A Yoni Steam works by applying gentle heat, when the herbs are placed in hot water, their medicinal properties are able to fumigate & release as moisture that carries the medicinal plant oils, to the exterior tissues of the vagina (the tissue referred to as the vulva).

The warmth and moisture increase circulation to the vulva, causing it to swell and expose the inner labia Lucas membranes. These tissues are very porous and absorbent, allowing the bloodstream to pick up the medicinal properties of the plants and carry them into the inner reproductive system, including the uterus.

You can steam anytime between your Follicular phase to your Luteal phase. If you are actively trying for a baby, please do not do this service during ovulation.

It is advised not to use this service during your menstrual phase, this may cause an increase to the volume of your bleed alongside causing tissue damage to the uterus lining during this phase.

Athena will guide you through some gentle breath work, connect with the spirit of rose through a sacred ceremonial setting and guide you through a felt or visual sense (depending on your preference) to connect with your womb space. This is a self empowering journey where no hands on healing or external force involved, this is a pure connection between you, your yoni and the plants.

Womb wellness is an ongoing lifestyle, self care and ritual based practise. It purely depends what you require on your journey. If you are having hormonal imbalances or ailment difficulties it is advised to be more consistent with fumigation & womb healing. You can also treat this service as a wellbeing package whenever you feel called to sitting in a ceremonial setting to honour your womb space.

During this session trauma imprints or emotional distortion can arise during the session. As a trauma informed facilitator Athena will ensure to work with you at a gentle pace, incorporating any DIY techniques for you to help regulate emotions and nervous system release. Ensure to know that this is a safe space and it is not always essential for things to arise, but when it does this is a safe space of healing.
